Faith formation/education is crucial to a healthy church in action.
The Anglican Church in Southern Queensland takes that seriously and employs numerous strategies in that direction. This is one of them!
The FormedFaith website is a place to share ideas, resources, events, programs and anything else that will support parishes and individuals in the growth of their Christian faith. It's been developed by the good people at St Francis College for this diocese but if you're from elsewhere feel free to stop by and have a look around!
And in case you've been wondering, formedfaith doesn't mean that the journey is over. Far from it! The journey of growth in faith is lifelong, but formedfaith was chosen as a name for this site because it encapsulates what we're aiming for. It also features formation, education and faith, the three key ideas we're focusing on.
The ideas, news and resources you'll see posted across these pages fall under the formedfaith banner but there's more going on across the diocese in these areas too.

Oh, and my name is Jonathan Sargeant...
I'm Director of Lay Education, working from St Francis Theological College which is a part of Ministry Education here in this diocese. I'm trained as a teacher and a youth and children's worker and spent seven years as a high school chaplain.
After that, I worked for the diocese for 18 years, training and supporting RE teachers and chaplains. I did my Masters in the area of religious education, faith formation and the intersection with popular culture!! Now learning never finishes!
My ministry is to assist parishes with faith education and formation. Oh, and I get to review movies for ANGLICAN FOCUS, our diocesan website. I like doing that!
And my name is Fiona Hammond
I’m the Lay Education Projects Officer!
In everything from teaching to camp fire ukulele strumming, I am deeply interested in equipping people to be their most magnificent best. I’ve been a high school English/History/Religious Education teacher, a youth minister and over the last few years I’ve spent my time writing curriculum resources to help teachers stay engaged and passionate about their work. I’ve created material for The Anglican Schools Commission, Education Queensland and Cricket Australia (to name a few!). Working in the FormedFaith team with its mission to equip lay ministry is such an exciting move! And I get to work with some pretty cool, creative people too! Total bonus.
