Roberto: Next Steps

Okay, maybe this should be titled "Faith Formation Transformation Next Steps" but that's too long! On this page we'll post hints, tips and how to's  to start to put John Roberto's ideas and practical strategies into action.  Come back regularly because we'll be adding to this all the time.  And if you have some suggestions for stuff that you've found that we could put here, let us know!

Remember, start small, focusing on your strengths...but start!

Curation: getting material for Faith formation

There is so much faith formation material available on the web.  Most of it is free!  That means you can be a curator, rather than a creator.  Who has time for that!? But how can you know what is useful and what is not?  That could take a lot of time! The trick is to build a crew of trusted faith-formers, who post ideas about useful resources, programs and material.  Here are some places to see that...

Here's John's regularly updated long list of many kinds of programs and resources...

Of course, you can subscribe to this website where we aggregate new stuff too...

Here's a website that collates research on faith formation, if you want to check out the basis for many of John's ideas.  Use the menu at the top left to find the theme of material you're after...

And here's one more! Building Faith, moderated by Sharon Pearson, was created by Church Publishing Incorporated “to be an on-line community for Christian education and faith formation leaders.”

The Roscoe Library here at St Francis College is a huge resource of great ideas and methods.  You can visit at Milton or become a borrower of eBooks from wherever you are...

Maybe you're wondering about curation itself.  Is there any wisdom about how to do it well?  This article is a few years old but has 5 great principles...

Using Facebook Live for webinars and more

The web offers us many faith formation strategies for free!  One of the most obvious is Facebook Live, a way to simply communicate with a dispersed group.  Click the button to find out how to do it. It's pretty easy!
